A comprehensive framework agreement between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is in the works

Minister of Treasury and Finance commenting on the UAE visit, said, “We will complete the work within the next two weeks. Our President will probably make a visit afterward. During that visit, there will likely be a comprehensive framework agreement. I don’t want to go into details, but it is quite extensive. We have made significant progress in technical terms.

Mehmet Şimşek, the Minister of Treasury and Finance, answered journalists’ questions following the Cabinet Meeting.

Regarding the questions about his visit to the UAE with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Şimşek stated that the coordination is currently under their authority at the Ministry of Treasury.

Şimşek indicated that they have made significant progress in technical work and said, “We will complete the work within the next two weeks. Our President will probably make a visit afterward. During that visit, there will likely be a comprehensive framework agreement. I don’t want to go into details, but it is quite extensive. We have made significant progress in technical terms.”

Şimşek mentioned that the visit was very productive, stating, “That’s why the delegations came. We worked throughout the entire holiday. A larger delegation will come next week. When the work is completed, a framework will be outlined during our President’s visit. It is clear whom we met there, the President, the Vice President, and the minister responsible for financial matters. There were subsequent technical assignments.”

Şimşek reported that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to the UAE will likely take place after the completion of the work, possibly after the NATO Summit.
