Akfen Renewable Energy, which has an installed capacity of 700 MW and produces only from domestic and renewable resources such as solar, water and wind, continues its efforts towards sustainable energy production and reducing environmental impacts.
Akfen Renewable Energy will generate 8.6 million dollars of revenue from the sale of carbon credits to the UK-based EOS Climate&Energy company in line with its goals of environmental sustainability and contribution to the economy in Üçpınar Wind Power Plant (WPP), Hasanoba WPP and Kocalar WPP in Çanakkale and Denizli WPP projects in Denizli.
The economic value created for Turkey as a result of the carbon sales realized so far by Akfen Renewable Energy will be realized as 11.8 million dollars.
While the income generated from carbon credit sales transactions will be utilized within the scope of the ongoing activities of environmental sustainability-oriented energy projects in operation, it will also provide resources for the expansion of Akfen Renewable Energy’s activities in the field of renewable energy.
Mustafa Kemal Güngör, General Manager of Akfen Renewable Energy, said: “Our sale of 8.6 million dollars of carbon credits is not only a financial success, but also an important contribution to the development of Turkey’s renewable energy sector. This success not only demonstrates the financial soundness and growth potential of our company, but also adds significant value to our economy while strengthening Turkey’s position to become a global leader in renewable energy.”
