Continuing its renewable energy investments since 2020 for a livable environment and a sustainable future, BİM installed SPPs on 16 warehouse roofs and commissioned its first on-land SPP project in Uşak / Ulubey.

With an installed capacity of 6.45 MW, the Uşak SPP aims to meet the energy needs of BİM’s 348 stores in Eskişehir, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, Kütahya and Bilecik and its warehouse in Afyonkarahisar.

Using 11,718 solar panels, the power plant’s production is equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 3,800 households and will reduce carbon emissions by 6,800 tons per year, which is equivalent to 98,700 trees.

21,983 tons of annual reduction in carbon emissions with 17 SPPs

In the first phase, BİM aims to reduce its greenhouse gas intensity by 20% by 2026 compared to 2019, and the total power of its 17 SPP projects has reached 26 MW.

With the 17 SPPs, production equivalent to the annual energy consumption of more than 13,500 households will be produced, while carbon emissions will be reduced by 21,983 tons annually and over 377,500 trees will be saved.
