President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s participation in a television program, where he said, “He became the President with the votes he received from the rural areas.” Erdoğan said, “Didn’t Mustafa Kemal Atatürk say ‘The peasant is the master of the nation’? CHP cannot see the face of power with this politics.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during the Necip Fazıl Commemoration Program he attended in Ankara, made a statement regarding the comments of the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who said, “He became the President with the votes he received from the rural areas.” President Erdoğan said the following, using the phrase “No one will dare to demean the sons and daughters of this nation anymore”:
“DIDN’T MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK SAY ‘THE PEASANT IS THE MASTER OF THE NATION’?”
“No one will be able to insult the people of Anatolia, nor throw threats. (Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu) What does he say? ‘He became the President with the votes he received from the rural areas.’ But didn’t the founder of your party, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, say ‘The peasant is the master of the nation’?
“CHP CANNOT SEE THE FACE OF POWER IN THIS COUNTRY”
On one hand this, on the other hand that, they won’t be able to get away with it anymore. This nation is progressing and will continue to progress. No one can wag their finger at citizens based on their voting preferences. As long as the CHP continues with this kind of politics, they cannot see the face of power in this country. This nation does not vote for terrorist organizations, and it will not.”
WHAT DID KEMAL KILIÇDAROĞLU SAY?
CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu recently appeared on a live broadcast on Sözcü TV, where he stated that in the elections, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received over 6 million votes in villages, towns, and municipalities where there were three or fewer ballot boxes, while he himself received over 3 million votes. Kılıçdaroğlu also mentioned that in cities where there were three or more ballot boxes, President Erdoğan received 49% of the votes, while he received 51%.
Kılıçdaroğlu also pointed out that the CHP did not demonstrate the necessary impact in rural areas, saying, “This shows the following: all those living in cities voted in favor of democracy. The ‘urban’ population, who are knowledgeable about urban culture, who live in cities, who see the economy as a part of their lives, who have neighborly relations, who read newspapers, watch television, discuss, and talk, said Kılıçdaroğlu, ‘CHP’ with a 51% majority. Is this a success or failure? Considering the resulting picture as a heavy defeat is something I will never accept.”
Later, Kılıçdaroğlu claimed that people in rural areas were not affected by economic collapse as much, stating, “It’s simple, when you give someone 500 liras a month, they don’t have anywhere to spend it. Where will they spend the money in the village? They are not affected by the economic collapse.”
