President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech after today’s cabinet meeting, announced that the base price for wheat in the year 2023 has been determined as 8200 Turkish Lira.
Erdoğan stated that the price of wheat, including incentives, will amount to 9200 Turkish Lira. He mentioned that the determination of the price took into account costs, domestic and international market developments, as well as food security. The Grain Board (TMO) has decided to set the purchase price at 8200 Turkish Lira per ton for bread wheat and 7000 Turkish Lira per ton for barley. Registered producers under the Agricultural Registration System (ÇKS) will receive 1000 Turkish Lira per ton for wheat and 500 Turkish Lira per ton for barley. This means that the effective price per ton for wheat will exceed 9200 Turkish Lira, while for barley, it will be 7500 Turkish Lira.
