Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, attended a ceremony held at TÜBİTAK on the occasion of the institution’s 60th anniversary.

During his speech, Kacır stated that TÜBİTAK leads the science and technology ecosystem with its innovative and entrepreneurial approach.

He emphasized that TÜBİTAK strengthens the country’s research capabilities and lays the foundation for the science, technology, and R&D ecosystem. Kacır also highlighted that the institution is the flagbearer of the “National Technology Initiative.”

In his speech, Kacır mentioned that the first national communication satellite, “Türksat 6A,” was developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY. He acknowledged that the testing phase took a little longer than expected but assured that they have made a commitment. He expressed his hope that they will successfully launch Türksat 6A into space in March 2024, similar to the success achieved with İMECE (which is likely a reference to a previous successful mission or project).
