Turkey will import beef from Poland


Turkey will import beef from Poland through the Et Süt Kurumu (ESK) to meet domestic demand. The imported meat will be sold to companies at a price of 195 Turkish liras per kilogram.

According to Ali Ekber Yıldırım’s report in Ekonomim newspaper, the applications for the imported beef from Poland will end today.

The Et ve Süt Kurumu (Meat and Milk Institution), established to develop animal husbandry and support producers, has announced that it will import fresh carcass beef in truckloads from Poland and sell it to companies producing deli products.

According to the announcement made by the Et ve Süt Kurumu, the price of the imported fresh carcass beef from Poland will be 195 Turkish liras per kilogram for businesses. Additionally, the value-added tax (VAT) will be added to this price. The Kurum reserves the right to update this price at any time.

The announcement stated: “Our Institution will make sales of imported fresh carcass beef in truckloads to companies actively operating in the red meat industry (producing deli products).”

The application period for businesses interested in purchasing the imported fresh carcass beef is only two days, with the deadline being 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

The applications will be evaluated by a commission, and a weekly distribution list will be determined.
