According to a statement made by Turkey’s Ministry of Trade, within the scope of the work carried out by the Antalya Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate, an investigation was initiated into luxury cars that were wanted to be brought within the scope of temporary imports.
As a result of the studies, it was determined that people who do not have the right to bring foreign-registered vehicles to Turkey are trying to smuggle luxury cars into the country.
The teams seized 15 smuggled luxury cars that were found to be in Istanbul, Ankara, Edirne, Bursa and Isparta. It was understood that the total current market value of these cars was 187 million liras.
While it was noteworthy that the cars were luxury brands, an investigation was launched against 38 suspects.
