Ulusoy Un opened its 5th factory in Hatay


Flour producer and exporter Ulusoy Un inaugurated the flour factory in Hatay Antakya Organized Industrial Zone, which it acquired in April. With a capacity of 275 tons/day wheat crushing, the factory will contribute to the economic development of the earthquake zone by being put into operation as a result of the revision works carried out for technology renewal.

The factory, which will enable Ulusoy Un to access the domestic market in the south and southeast region with more cost-effective transportation, has a closed area of 6,880 square meters on a total area of 10,186 square meters. Stating that the number of active factories of Ulusoy Un has increased to 5, Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ulusoy Un, said, “Ulusoy Un realized a sales revenue of 24 billion TL in the first 9 months of 2023, recording a growth of 75% compared to the same period of the previous year. Today, we export to 102 countries.

Our total production capacity reached 3,925 tons/day in Samsun, Çorlu, Aydın and Ankara factories. With the commissioning of the factory in Hatay, our total production capacity reached 4,200 tons/day and we continue to maintain our position as Turkey’s largest flour producer by far.”

Cost advantage in the domestic market, tonnage increase in exports

Noting that they aim to achieve cost advantage by using the ports in Mersin, Adana and Iskenderun region for raw material supply and increase in export tonnage thanks to the proximity to Turkey’s southern neighbors, Ulusoy said, “Our company will have the opportunity to access the domestic market in the south and southeast region of our country with more cost-effective transportation. Thus, with our factories located in 5 different regions within our company, we have reached an active production capacity to expand sales to all regions of Turkey.

Turkey’s 247th largest exporter according to the TIM1000 list, Turkey’s 273rd largest industrial enterprise according to the ISO500 list and the largest company in its sector, Ulusoy Un ranks 69th on the Fortune500 list and 84th largest company in Turkey according to Capital magazine’s Capital500 survey. Ulusoy Un, which recently realized its first sukuk and financing bond issuance within the scope of access to alternative financing channels and continues to invest in renewable energy resources, is positioned as the 17th largest company in Anatolia according to the “Anatolia’s 500 Largest Companies” survey of Ekonomist magazine.”
