The meeting between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who arrived in Istanbul on Friday evening (January 5) as part of his Middle East tour, began.
According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting took place at Vahdettin Mansion in Üsküdar and lasted about two hours. No joint statement was made after the meeting. In the statement made on the social media account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Minister Hakan Fidan met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul. During the meeting, the war in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis, Sweden’s accession process to NATO, bilateral and regional issues were discussed.”
