An important statement came from the Iraqi government regarding oil shipments to Turkey. Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister said, “The Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline is expected to start its operations by the end of the month.”

Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister Basim Mohammed spoke to Reuters News Agency. Mohammed said that the pipeline, which will enable Iraq to send 350 thousand barrels of oil to Turkey per day, is under repair.

Stating that the storage facilities and pumping station have been completed within the framework of the works, the Iraqi deputy minister said, “The pipeline is expected to start its operations by the end of this month and be ready for oil flow again.”

Oil shipments through the 960-kilometer Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline were halted due to attacks by the terrorist organization Daesh.

The Energy Ministry announced last November that the Turkish side of the pipeline was ready for shipment.
