Central Bank’s reserves continue to improve. Historic record in gross reserves

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) continued to increase its total reserves last week and reached a new peak.

According to CBRT data, gross reserves increased by USD 2 billion 157 million from USD 95 billion 399 million to USD 97 billion 556 million as of December 22. Thus, the highest level was reached after the 96 billion 350 million dollars seen on November 24, 2017.

Gold reserves rose from $47 billion 129 million to $47 billion 896 million and total reserves from $142 billion 528 million to $145 billion 453 million. Thus, total reserves reached its historical peak in the fourth consecutive week.

Net international reserves, which were 37 billion 179 million dollars in the previous week, increased by 2 billion 907 million dollars in the week in question and reached 40 billion 86 million dollars.
