The lawsuit filed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality regarding the zoning plan of the Canal Istanbul Project has been finalized. Istanbul 11th Administrative Court canceled the zoning plan for Canal Istanbul Yenişehir Reserve Building Area.
Istanbul 11th Administrative Court, which gave its decision on the transaction of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, canceled the zoning plan by justifying IBB’s objection. In the decision numbered 2023/3120, it was stated that “It has been concluded and concluded that there is no conformity with the principles and principles of urbanism, planning techniques and the law in the 1/5000 scale Master Development Plan and 1/1000 scale Implementation Development Plan Amendment regarding the 1st Stage of Istanbul Province, Yenişehir Reserve Building Area (Canal Istanbul Project) dated 15/07/2021 and the transaction regarding the tacit rejection of the objection dated 16/08/2021 and numbered BK No: 4274, IBB No: 138918 to these plan amendments.”
IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu announced at the Istanbul Project Presentation Meeting that the Canal Istanbul zoning plan was canceled by the court and said, “We did not build you that concrete canal, we will not build it, and we will not give you the opportunity to deceive the nation.”
