Akbank Chairman of the Board Suzan Sabancı Dinçer, who evaluated the new economic management, highlighted that Turkey, following the 2023 general elections, is setting off in the new era with an economy management possessing international experience that will instill confidence in the financial markets.

She stated, “I wholeheartedly believe that our new Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, with his experience and past successes, will once again make significant contributions to our country.”

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer also expressed her confidence that Dr. Hafize Gaye Erkan, who has been appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) with her international recognition and experience, will be successful in this role. She considered it highly valuable for Erkan to be the first female president in this position on behalf of our country. She further believed that Erkan, who returned to our country after leaving her international post, would serve as an inspiration for bright Turkish youth abroad within the framework of this important responsibility.

Regarding Şahap Kavcıoğlu, who assumed the role of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) Chairman after Mehmet Ali Akben, Suzan Sabancı Dinçer emphasized her confidence in his significant contributions to the sector based on his past experiences. She also expressed her gratitude to Akben for his valuable services to our industry for many years. She concluded by wishing a prosperous new era.

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer was elected as the Chairperson of Akbank’s Board of Directors on March 28, 2008. Prior to this position, she served as a board member of Akbank for 11 years.

Sabancı Dinçer has over 20 years of experience in banking. She started her career at Akbank in 1989 as the Head of Treasury Department and was appointed as the Deputy General Manager in charge of Treasury in 1994.

In 1997, she became a board member responsible for Fund Management and International Relations, and in 2000, she was appointed as a board member responsible for all matters. On March 27, 2015, she was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of Sabancı Holding.

Sabancı Dinçer completed her undergraduate studies in Finance and International Marketing at Richmond University in the United Kingdom. She also holds a Master’s degree (MBA) in Business Administration from Boston University in the United States.
