Acun Ilıcalı, the owner of Hull City, has acquired a majority stake in Shelbourne FC from the Irish Premier League. Ilıcalı continues to invest in the football world, following his acquisition of Hull City, by purchasing another club.
In his statement regarding the acquisition of the majority stake in Shelbourne FC, Ilıcalı said, “Our strong football investments, which started with Hull City, continue with the acquisition of a majority stake in Shelbourne FC, one of the oldest and most established clubs in the Irish Premier League. Our goal is to participate in European Cups together with Shelbourne FC, achieve significant successes, and contribute many talents to world football. Our belief in Irish football, the potential of the club, and our fans is limitless.”
Shelbourne FC, currently in 5th place in the 10-team Irish League, has managed to gather 29 points in 19 matches.
